"All-in-one" is one of the most overused phrases in software.
Everybody says it. Very few mean the same thing by it. So when someone asks me about HighLevel vs Kartra, I don't start with the feature list. I start with a question.
All of what, exactly?
Kartra is a proper all-in-one for people selling online. Pages, funnels, email, courses, memberships, checkouts, video hosting, a helpdesk. It's been built with care, and a lot of course creators and coaches run their whole business on it.
HighLevel is an all-in-one too. But its "all" goes further. It takes in the phone, the text message, the missed call, the review request, the booking reminder, the AI that answers at 11pm. And then it lets an agency put its own name on the whole thing and resell it.
That's the real difference. One is built around selling online. The other is built around running a business, and running lots of them.
Here's how the two compare, honestly, and why I think HighLevel is the better choice for most small businesses and almost every agency.
HighLevel vs Kartra at a glance
Before the detail, here's the side-by-side. Everything about Kartra comes from Kartra's own website, checked on 25 October 2026. Where Kartra's site doesn't describe a feature, I've said so rather than guess.
| HighLevel | Kartra | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it's for | Agencies, entrepreneurs and small and medium businesses (HighLevel) | Course creators, coaches and online marketers (Kartra) |
| CRM and pipelines | CRM, sales pipelines, lead scoring, smart lists, custom objects | CRM with lead tagging and scoring |

| Funnels and websites | Websites, funnels, landing pages, webinar funnels, forms, surveys, quizzes | Landing pages, websites, sales funnels, forms, surveys and quizzes |
| Calendars and booking | Calendars, appointment reminders, paid calendars | Appointment scheduling (calendars) |

| White-label and reselling for agencies | White-label desktop, unlimited sub-accounts (on higher plans), SaaS Mode, rebilling | Agency Dashboard to manage client accounts bought in bulk; agency branding in client email footers |
| Pricing model | Flat agency subscription, unlimited users, plus usage-based phone, email and AI | Tiered monthly plans set by contacts, pages and products; transaction fees on the entry plan |
Sources for HighLevel: the HighLevel homepage, pricing and the App Marketplace. Sources for Kartra: Kartra's homepage, plans and pricing, the Kartra Marketplace and Kartra for Agencies.
Look down the left column and the right column. Both are long lists. Both can fairly be called all-in-one.
But the gaps on the right are the bits that keep a local business alive. The phone. The reviews. The text that goes out when you miss a call.
Where Kartra is genuinely good, and where HighLevel goes further
I want to be fair here. Kartra isn't a weak product, and anyone telling you it is hasn't used it.
Who Kartra suits
If you sell knowledge online, Kartra makes a lot of sense. It has a course builder and membership sites, native video hosting, checkouts with upsells and coupons, affiliate management and a helpdesk, all under one login. For a coach launching a programme, that's a tidy setup. You're not stitching five tools together to take a payment and deliver a course.
The Kartra Marketplace is a good idea too. Members can buy and sell complete campaigns, and hire freelancers (designers, copywriters, coders). Kartra handles the payment and the delivery, and buyers import a campaign with its pages, copy and automations. For someone who doesn't want to start from a blank page, that's useful.
So credit where it's due. If your whole business is online courses and digital products, Kartra will do the job.
Where HighLevel goes further
Now think about the businesses I spend most of my time with. HVAC companies. Credit repair firms. Landscapers. Clinics. Agencies serving all of them.
Their customer doesn't live on a sales page. Their customer rings the office, doesn't get an answer, and rings the next company on Google.
That's where the difference shows.
HighLevel puts SMS, Messenger, Instagram DM, WhatsApp and live chat into one consolidated conversation stream. It has call tracking, missed call text-back, ringless voicemail and automated outbound call connect. It has reputation management, automated review requests and AI review replies. It has paid calendars, appointment reminders, invoicing, Text-2-Pay and estimates.
And it still has the online-business bits: funnels, websites, webinar funnels, membership offers, courses and communities.
Kartra's site doesn't mention phone calling, review management or a social planner. Its pricing table does show email and SMS sending limits, but the homepage doesn't describe an SMS product in any detail.
That's not a criticism. It's a choice about who Kartra is built for.
It's not "which platform has more features". It's "which platform covers the whole journey your customer actually takes".
The AI question
Both platforms talk about AI. They mean different things.
Kartra AI is described on Kartra's site as copy generation. Helpful when you're staring at an empty email.
HighLevel's AI goes into the conversation itself. Voice AI and Conversation AI can answer calls and chats. The help centre describes an AI Employee that includes or works alongside Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI, Content AI, Ask AI and AI Studio.
I've said it plenty of times. AI doesn't replace humans. It speeds up the process. But an AI that books the appointment while you're asleep is doing a very different job from an AI that writes your subject line.
If you're mainly comparing course platforms, I've also compared HighLevel vs Kajabi, which goes deeper on the course side.
HighLevel vs Kartra: a platform you can build on
This is the section I care about most. Partly because it's what we do at NexGenHighLevel. But mostly because it's where the long-term value of a platform sits.
A platform you use is useful. A platform other people can build on gets better every month, without you lifting a finger.
The HighLevel App Marketplace
HighLevel opened itself up to developers. The HighLevel App Marketplace says you can "Browse 1500+ apps to enhance your CRM, marketing automation, and business workflows."
Third-party developers register, create an app and publish it when they're ready, following HighLevel's App Review Guidelines. Agencies can buy those apps per sub-account or on usage-based pricing, and HighLevel handles the billing.
Then there's the bit agencies love. Agencies can resell marketplace apps to their sub-accounts with their own markup (for apps using HighLevel's internal payment collection), and the base price is hidden from the client.
Think about what that means. When someone builds a better way to do LinkedIn outreach or WhatsApp follow-up, it installs straight into your account. You don't wait for HighLevel to build it.
HighLevel Snapshots
The second half of the story is Snapshots.
HighLevel's own definition: Snapshots are reusable templates that capture selected configuration assets from a HighLevel sub-account so they can be copied into other sub-accounts.
And the list of what a Snapshot can carry is long. Workflows and triggers. Funnels and websites. Forms, surveys and quizzes. Pipelines, tags, custom fields and custom values. Calendars. Email and text templates. Conversation AI and Voice AI agents. Membership offers and products. Review settings. Dashboards and custom reports. WhatsApp templates.
That's a whole business, not one campaign.
Snapshots can also be sold. Agency admins can sell their Snapshots to other HighLevel agencies through the App Marketplace, and buyers push the Snapshot straight into their accounts from the HighLevel dashboard.
What Kartra offers on both points
Kartra does have something here, and I want to describe it accurately.

The Kartra Marketplace lets members buy or sell campaigns, either for free or for a fee. Those campaigns can be single-page templates, multi-page funnels, membership templates or full campaigns with pages, copy and automations. Kartra handles payment and delivery. Sellers can "Earn extra cash by selling your campaigns and funnels to thousands of Kartra users". Plans also come with pre-built campaigns.
That's a genuine, sellable template feature. It's good.
But a Kartra campaign packages a campaign. A HighLevel Snapshot packages an account.
A campaign is the funnel and its follow-up. A Snapshot is the funnel, the follow-up, the pipeline, the calendars, the review requests, the AI agents, the reporting and the custom values that tie them together.
On apps, I couldn't find a third-party software app store for Kartra, where outside developers build and publish apps that install into Kartra accounts. The Kartra Marketplace is about campaigns and freelancers, not software.
So here's the honest summary of Kartra vs HighLevel on building:
| Building on the platform | HighLevel | Kartra |
|---|---|---|
| Third-party apps that install into your account | Yes, App Marketplace ("1500+ apps") | No app store found |
| Agencies resell apps with markup | Yes (internal payment collection) | Not described |
| Sellable templates | Yes, Snapshots | Yes, campaigns |
| Template scope | A whole sub-account | One campaign or funnel with its assets |
Both platforms let people share and sell their work. Only one lets people sell you a whole working business, and keep adding new software to it.
How our apps help you get more out of HighLevel
Here's where I declare an interest. We build apps for HighLevel. You can see them all on our apps page.
I'll keep this to the ones that matter most when you're comparing an online-marketing all-in-one with HighLevel.
But first, one principle. Every one of our apps is built as part of HighLevel, not bolted on. They use what's already there: Workflows, Contacts, Tags and Conversations. No API to wire up. No Zapier, Make or webhooks in the middle.
We made our apps a part of HighLevel, rather than a complement to HighLevel.
LinkedIn for HighLevel: the missing front end
HighLevel's original line was "Capture, Nurture, Close". I always asked the same question.
Where's the prospecting? Where's the outreach? Where's the market creation?
Coaches and consultants (a lot of the people who'd consider Kartra) often find their clients on LinkedIn. LinkedIn for HighLevel brings LinkedIn prospecting inside your HighLevel sub-accounts. You find people, enrich their email addresses, import them, and run outreach from the same place your follow-up lives. Agencies can white-label it and resell it to clients.
We first built it for one client who needed it. Outreach went up for those first clients, and so did leads, sales, revenue and profit. Email enrichment was the real game changer, because it meant people could reach their ideal customer on LinkedIn and email, then nurture them in HighLevel.
WhatsApp for HighLevel: talk where your customers already are
A lot of customers would rather send a WhatsApp than fill in a form. WhatsApp for HighLevel connects your existing WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business number by QR code. Chats appear in HighLevel Conversations, and your Workflows can send messages and follow up automatically.
No Meta API approval needed. There's a standard version and an agency white-label version, and both install from the HighLevel App Marketplace.
For agency owners: Customizer and Custom Value Forms
Two apps exist purely to make an agency's life easier.
The HighLevel Agency Customizer lets agency owners customise their agency and sub-accounts (branding, menus, languages) without writing code. Your clients log in to something that looks and feels like your product.
Custom Value Forms gives agencies branded forms whose answers save straight into Custom Values in clients' sub-accounts. If you've ever spent an afternoon copying a client's business hours, address and service list into an account by hand, you'll see why that matters.
None of this is possible without a platform that lets people build on it. That's the point.
Snapshots make starting on HighLevel much easier
Let's deal with the fair criticism of HighLevel first. It's big. There's a lot in it. A new account can feel like walking into an empty warehouse.

That's exactly the problem Snapshots solve.
What a NexGenHighLevel Snapshot is
A NexGenHighLevel Snapshot is a complete, fully built-out business system for a niche. A business system in a box. You load it into a HighLevel account and the whole thing is there: funnels, forms, workflows, pipelines, calendars, emails and texts, and AI features, all connected around the whole client journey.
It's not a starter pack.
And not all Snapshots are equal. A typical Snapshot on the market might be a couple of funnels, a few workflows and one pipeline. That's a start. It isn't a system.
Ours are built around how a business in that niche actually wins and keeps customers, from the first enquiry to the review request at the end. I've written more about the idea behind it in what a HighLevel Snapshot business in a box really means.
Built for the business owner and the agency
Every Snapshot works for two people.
The business owner in that niche, who wants a working system in their own account without building it from scratch.
And the agency serving that niche, who wants to deliver a proven system to every new client without rebuilding it every time.
Some of the live ones:
- The Social Media Marketing Agency (SMMA) Snapshot, for agencies running their own business on HighLevel.
- The Credit Repair Snapshot, for credit repair firms and the agencies that serve them.
- The HVAC Snapshot, for heating and cooling companies and their agencies.
You can see the full range on our HighLevel Snapshots page, and there are more niches on the way. And if you get HighLevel through NexGenHighLevel, a free Snapshot comes with the account.
Why this matters in a HighLevel vs Kartra decision
Here's the practical bit.
With Kartra, you can import a campaign and get a funnel with its automations. That's useful. But you still have to build everything around it.
With HighLevel, you can load a Snapshot and have the funnel, the follow-up, the bookings, the pipeline and the reviews working together on day one.
Clients have used Snapshots to skip months, if not years, of trial and error building a system.
That's the bit people underestimate. The software isn't the hard part. Knowing how to put it together is.
HighLevel vs Kartra for agency owners
If you run an agency, this section might settle it on its own.
What Kartra offers agencies
Kartra has a proper agency offer, and I'll describe it fairly. Kartra for Agencies gives you an Agency Dashboard to "Run and manage client accounts from a centralized master console."
There are two models. As an owner, you buy client accounts in bulk at a discount and set your own markup or retainer. As a contractor, you link a client's existing Kartra account. Your agency branding appears in the footer of client emails, which Kartra describes as "subtle, non-clickable and non-intrusive".
That's a sensible way to manage clients. But each client account is a separately bought Kartra account, and I couldn't find a full white-label, where you rebrand Kartra as your own software.
What HighLevel offers agencies
HighLevel was built for agencies from the start. Its 2018 mission was to "transform digital marketing by giving agencies the tools to automate, scale and deliver stronger results."
Agencies subscribe at the agency level, and each agency account can host multiple sub-accounts, often one per client. The Unlimited and Agency Pro plans include unlimited sub-accounts.
Then there's white-label. HighLevel's help centre says the white labelling feature "ensures that all traces of HighLevel branding are removed from the platform", with your own login domain, desktop app and API domain. There's also a White Label Mobile App, published under your own Apple and Google developer accounts.
And SaaS Mode, on Agency Pro, lets agencies rebrand the software as their own, build plans, set their own pricing, choose a trial and attach Snapshots to each plan.
On top of that, agencies can rebill phone and email, with markup on Agency Pro, and resell AI Employee as a client subscription.
Why that difference is so big
Kartra lets an agency manage client accounts. GoHighLevel lets an agency own a software product.
That's not a small gap. One is a better way of doing client work. The other is a whole new business model.
I've seen what this did to the market. When HighLevel let anyone white-label the platform, the number of agencies in my old US sector went from 10 or 20 competitors to thousands, almost overnight. I call it the GoHighLevel Effect. Not every new agency delivered. But the opportunity was real, and it still is.
My advice hasn't changed. Learn your craft before you learn how to sell it. Then use a platform that lets you build something of your own.
If you're building an agency on HighLevel, our white-label virtual assistants for HighLevel agencies can take on the build and delivery work while you focus on clients.
HighLevel's growth vs Kartra over the last five years
Growth matters when you choose a platform. You're not just buying what it does today. You're betting on what it'll do in three years.

What HighLevel has published
HighLevel publishes a fair amount about its growth. Here's what it has said, year by year, with sources.
| Year | HighLevel (published figures) |
|---|---|
| 2021 | "Grew to 10,000+ customers" (about page). In November 2021, a group led by PeakEquity Partners invested more than $60 million for a minority stake, at a time when HighLevel served over 15,000 agencies representing over 300,000 small businesses |
| 2022 | "Surpassed 20,000 customers" (about page) |
| 2023 | "Exceeded 60,000 customers" (about page). Deloitte Technology Fast 500 No. 47, with revenue growth of 3,362% from 2019 to 2022 |
| 2024 | Minority growth investment from General Atlantic; HighLevel had grown "more than 5x" over the prior three years "while maintaining profitability". Deloitte Fast 500 No. 103, 1,176% growth from 2020 to 2023 |
| 2025 | Inc. 5000 No. 516, 781% three-year revenue growth, its third year in a row on the list. In October 2025, over 2 million businesses used HighLevel, with about 110,000 customers and more than 1,800 employees |
The simplest way to read that: HighLevel went from 10,000+ customers in 2021 to about 110,000 customers in October 2025. That's roughly eleven times as many customers in under five years.
And it's still building. HighLevel's LevelUp 2026 event in Dallas was set to unveil "more than 300 product features and updates".
What Kartra has published
Here I have to be straight with you. Kartra doesn't publish revenue, funding or year-by-year growth figures, and I couldn't find any in reputable sources.
Kartra's homepage does show some marketing figures, but they're undated, and the customer count appears differently in different places on the site. So I've left them out rather than pick the flattering one or the unflattering one. That wouldn't be fair.
| Year | Kartra (published figures) |
|---|---|
| 2021 to 2025 | No revenue, funding or annual growth figures published |
What the numbers tell you
I won't pretend a missing number means anything bad. Plenty of good private companies keep their figures to themselves.
But here's what I'd point to. HighLevel has had independent rankings (Deloitte, Inc.) three years running, outside investment twice, and a customer base that keeps compounding. And a lot of that growth comes from other people building on it: agencies reselling it, developers publishing apps, and people like us building Snapshots.
Momentum like that feeds itself. More users bring more developers. More developers bring more apps. More apps bring more users.
Who should choose Kartra, and who should choose HighLevel
I'll be fair to both, because the right answer depends on your business.
Choose Kartra if
- Your whole business is selling courses, memberships and digital products online.
- You want native video hosting and a built-in helpdesk sitting alongside your funnels.
- You don't need phone calls, text-heavy follow-up or review management.
- You're a single brand and have no plans to resell software to clients.
Choose HighLevel if
- You're a small or medium business whose customers call, text, book and leave reviews.
- You want CRM, pipelines, funnels, calendars, SMS, WhatsApp, reviews, AI and courses in one connected system.
- You'd rather load a complete, working Snapshot than build everything from scratch.
- You want to add new capability through the App Marketplace as your business grows.
- You run an agency, or want to, and you'd like unlimited sub-accounts, white-label and the option of SaaS Mode.
For most small businesses I talk to, and for almost every agency, that second list is the one that describes them. That's why I think HighLevel is the better choice, and the strongest Kartra alternative out there for anyone who needs more than an online storefront.
If funnels are the main thing you're weighing up, I've also put HighLevel vs ClickFunnels side by side.
Switching from Kartra to HighLevel
Moving platforms sounds worse than it is. Here's what it actually involves.
The practical steps
- Export your contacts. Take your contact list and tags out of Kartra and import them into HighLevel. Map your tags to HighLevel tags so your segments come across.
- Load a Snapshot or rebuild. This is the big one. You can rebuild your funnels, emails and automations one by one. Or you can load a Snapshot for your niche and have the whole system standing in one go, then add your own content.
- Move your courses. Recreate your courses and memberships in HighLevel's membership area.
- Connect phone and email. Set up your phone number, sending domain and email in HighLevel, and connect your calendars and payments. Remember that integrations and connections need setting up in each account; Snapshots don't carry them over.
- Run both for a short overlap. Keep Kartra live for a few weeks while HighLevel takes over. Point new traffic at HighLevel first. Switch off Kartra once you're confident.
Walk before you run. And even when you're ready to run, keep walking a little bit longer. A short overlap costs you very little and saves a lot of stress.
A Snapshot is the fastest way to stand up the new account. It's the difference between moving into a furnished house and moving into a building site.
Getting HighLevel through NexGenHighLevel
If you're switching, you can get HighLevel through NexGenHighLevel. Here's what that includes, plainly:
- Over 200 HighLevel training courses.
- Access to all our Apps for HighLevel, both our live apps and future releases.
- 24/7 support and personalised, one-to-one onboarding.
- A full HighLevel sub-account under our agency, and a free Snapshot from NexGenHighLevel.
That's it. No tricks. You get the platform, the training, the apps and a person to help you set it up properly.
Frequently asked questions
Is HighLevel better than Kartra?
For most small businesses and agencies, I think it is. Kartra is strong for selling courses and digital products online. HighLevel covers that too, then adds phone, SMS, WhatsApp, reviews, AI that answers calls and chats, and agency white-label. If your customers call, book and leave reviews, or you serve clients, HighLevel is the better fit.
Can I migrate from Kartra to HighLevel?
Yes. Export your contacts and tags from Kartra and import them into HighLevel. Then either rebuild your funnels and automations or load a Snapshot to stand up the whole system in one go. Recreate your courses, connect your phone, email and payments, and run both platforms for a short overlap before switching Kartra off.
Is GoHighLevel cheaper than Kartra?
The pricing models are different. Kartra uses tiered monthly plans set by contacts, pages and products, with transaction fees on its entry plan. GoHighLevel uses a flat agency subscription with unlimited users, plus usage-based charges for phone, email and AI. For agencies running many clients, HighLevel's flat model with unlimited sub-accounts on higher plans usually scales better.
Does Kartra have white-label?
Kartra has an Agency Dashboard for managing client accounts. Agencies buy client accounts in bulk at a discount and set their own markup, and agency branding appears in the footer of client emails. I couldn't find a full white-label where you rebrand Kartra as your own software. HighLevel offers full white-label and SaaS Mode.
What is a HighLevel Snapshot?
A Snapshot is a reusable template that captures an account's setup (funnels, forms, workflows, pipelines, calendars, emails, texts, AI agents and more) so it can be loaded into another HighLevel account. A NexGenHighLevel Snapshot is a complete business system for a niche, and you get a free one when you start your HighLevel account with us.
What is the best Kartra alternative for agencies?
For agencies, I'd say HighLevel. It was built for agencies from day one, with sub-accounts for each client, white-label, SaaS Mode, rebilling and an App Marketplace you can resell from. Add Snapshots and you can deliver a complete system to each new client instead of building every account from scratch.
The all-in-one that keeps growing
Kartra and HighLevel are both all-in-ones. That's fair to say.
But one is built around the online sale. The other is built around the whole business, and around the agencies, developers and Snapshot builders who keep making it better.
If you're ready to see it for yourself, start your HighLevel account with us. You'll get the training, the apps, the onboarding and a free Snapshot to get you moving.
All-in-one is a feature list. A platform people build on is a future.
