A funnel has never paid anybody's wages on its own.
I've built a lot of funnels. Lovely pages, sharp copy, a decent offer. And I've watched leads land in them and then sit there, because nobody called them back, nobody sent the reminder, and nobody asked for the review once the job was done.
That's the real question behind HighLevel vs ClickFunnels. It's not which one builds the nicer page. It's what happens after somebody fills in the form.
ClickFunnels made the sales funnel famous, and it deserves credit for that. HighLevel started from a different place: the whole system around the funnel, built for small businesses and the agencies that serve them.
I've used both worlds. I ran a marketing agency before HighLevel existed in my life, and I now build apps and Snapshots that sit inside HighLevel. So I'm not neutral, and I won't pretend to be.
But I'll be fair. Here's how they actually compare.
HighLevel vs ClickFunnels at a glance
Before the opinions, the facts. Everything about ClickFunnels below comes from its own website and help centre, checked in October 2026.
| HighLevel | ClickFunnels | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it's built for | Agencies and small and medium businesses; agencies host multiple sub-accounts, often one per client | People selling online through funnels, with an Agency App for client workspaces |
| CRM and pipelines | CRM, sales pipelines, lead scoring, smart lists (HighLevel) | Sales CRM and opportunity pipelines (ClickFunnels) |
| Email, SMS and phone | Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram DM, live chat in one stream; missed call text-back, call tracking, ringless voicemail | Email marketing, SMS, 2-way messaging and chat; phone calling isn't listed on the homepage |
| Funnels and websites | Websites, funnels, landing pages, webinar funnels, forms, surveys, quizzes | Its core strength: funnels, landing pages, A/B testing, Smart Checkout, one-click upsells, online store, websites, blog |
| Calendars and booking | Calendars, appointment reminders, paid calendars | Appointments and calendars |
| Reviews and reputation | Reputation management, automated review requests, AI review reply, video reviews | Not listed on the homepage |
| Courses and memberships | Membership offers, courses, communities | Online courses, membership areas, community groups |
| AI | Voice AI, Conversation AI, Content AI, AI review replies | Payments AI is the AI feature named on the homepage |
| App marketplace | 1,500+ apps built by third-party developers, installed natively | ClickFunnels' own feature modules plus a list of third-party integrations |
| Packaged account setups | Snapshots copy a whole sub-account's configuration, and can be sold on the App Marketplace | Frameworks bundle funnels, workflows, courses, pipelines and more, shared by link |
| White-label and reselling | Full white-label, SaaS mode, rebilling (HighLevel help centre) | No white-label offer found on the homepage, pricing page or Agency App docs |
| Pricing model | Flat agency price, unlimited users; usage-based phone, email and AI on top (pricing) | Flat price per account in tiers, with contact and team-member limits rising by tier (pricing) |
Look at that table for a second.
On funnels, they're close. On everything that happens after the funnel, HighLevel keeps going.
What ClickFunnels does well, and who it suits
Credit where it's due.
ClickFunnels launched in September 2014 and did a huge amount to make the sales funnel famous. That's not a small thing. In my view, it's a big reason opt-ins, upsells and order bumps became everyday language for small business owners.
The product is still built around that strength. Its homepage leads with funnels, landing pages, A/B testing, Smart Checkout, one-click upsells and an online store. It's grown well beyond pages, too: there's a sales CRM, pipelines, appointments, email sequences, SMS, courses, memberships and community groups.
If you sell a digital product, a course or a single offer online, and the checkout is the heart of your business, ClickFunnels is a genuinely good fit. It's focused. It knows its customer. I respect that.
So this isn't a "ClickFunnels is bad" article. It isn't.
It's a "what does your business actually need?" article.
Why funnels are only the start of a business system
Here's what my agency years taught me.
We worked mostly with private medical practices in the US. We built ads, funnels, follow-up, the lot. And the funnel was rarely the thing that made or broke a client.
What broke them was everything around it. The phone that went unanswered. The lead that waited three days for a callback. The booking that turned into a no-show because nobody sent a reminder. The happy patient who was never asked for a Google review.
A funnel captures interest. A business system turns that interest into revenue and profit.
That's the difference between these two platforms, and it's why I'd call HighLevel the ClickFunnels alternative for any business that lives on calls, bookings and repeat customers.
What HighLevel adds after the form is filled in
HighLevel's own homepage groups its features as Capture, Nurture, Close, Evangelize and Reactivate. That's the whole journey, not just the front door.

- Conversations in one place. SMS, Messenger, Instagram DM, WhatsApp and live chat in one stream, so nothing gets lost between inboxes.
- Phone. Missed call text-back, call tracking, ringless voicemail and automated outbound call connect.
- Booking. Calendars, paid calendars and appointment reminders.
- Reputation. Automated review requests, AI review replies and video review capture.
- AI. Voice AI that can answer calls, Conversation AI for chat, and Content AI for writing.
- Payments. Estimates and proposals, invoicing, text-to-pay, tap-to-pay, gift cards and loyalty programmes.
- Marketing. Social planner, ad manager and broadcast campaigns across email, SMS and WhatsApp.
ClickFunnels has some of this. It has SMS, chat and appointments. But its homepage doesn't list review management, a social planner or phone calling. For a plumber, a dentist or a landscaper, those aren't extras. They're where the money is.
The local business test
Ask yourself one question. Where do my customers actually come from?
If the answer is "a checkout page", ClickFunnels makes sense.
If the answer is "they call, they book, they turn up, they tell their neighbour", you need a lot more than a funnel. You need the follow-up, the reminders, the reviews and the reactivation. All of it working together.
It's not a funnel problem. It's a follow-up problem.
That's why, for most small businesses I talk to, the GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels choice comes down to how far past the funnel they need the software to go. Look at ClickFunnels vs HighLevel through that lens and the answer usually picks itself.
HighLevel vs ClickFunnels as platforms you can build on
This is the bit I care about most, because it's how we make our living. GoHighLevel isn't just software you use. It's software people build businesses on.
A platform isn't just the features it ships. It's what other people can build on top of it. And on that point, the gap between HighLevel and ClickFunnels is wide.
The HighLevel App Marketplace
The HighLevel App Marketplace lists more than 1,500 apps. These aren't just links to other software. Developers register, build an app, and then publish it when it's ready, following HighLevel's App Review Guidelines.
HighLevel handles the billing. In its words, it "handles billing directly with agencies, collects payment, then remits" to the developer (developer docs). Developers can charge free, freemium, subscription, one-time or usage-based pricing, and HighLevel currently doesn't deduct a commission.
And here's the bit agencies love. Agencies can resell marketplace apps to their own clients, with their own markup, where the app uses HighLevel's payment collection. Apps are also reviewed for white-label compatibility.
What does that mean in practice? When HighLevel doesn't do something, there's a good chance somebody has already built it. And it installs straight into the account.
What ClickFunnels offers instead
ClickFunnels has an "Apps" page inside each workspace. But the apps on it are ClickFunnels' own feature modules: Affiliate Center, Automations, Email, Courses, Community, Appointments, Opportunities, Frameworks and others. You switch them on. The help page doesn't call it a marketplace.
It also has a list of native third-party integrations, including several well-known email and CRM tools.
Developers can apply for a developer account through ClickFunnels support, and may be added to a curated "Stellar Integrators" list. That page doesn't mention an app store, a revenue share or white-label apps, and I found no public marketplace where developers sell apps to ClickFunnels users.
So both platforms can connect to other software. Only one has a marketplace where independent developers build, publish and get paid for apps that install natively. That's HighLevel.
Snapshots vs ClickFunnels Frameworks
Now the packaged setups. I want to be precise here, because ClickFunnels has something real.

ClickFunnels has two ways to share what you've built:
- Share Funnel. A share link copies one funnel, including its pages, automation workflows, settings and products. It doesn't include courses, themes or email templates.
- Frameworks. This is the bigger one. A Framework bundles workspace components into what ClickFunnels calls "a complete blueprint that can be implemented or customized." It can include funnels with their linked workflows, standalone workflows, themes, courses, landing pages, email templates, products, stores and opportunity pipelines. You share it with a link, and the recipient claims it into their own workspace. You can add an affiliate code, so you earn commission if the recipient opens a new ClickFunnels account.
That's a genuinely useful feature, and it's ClickFunnels' closest thing to a Snapshot.
So why is a HighLevel Snapshot stronger?
It covers more of the business. HighLevel's official Snapshot asset list runs from funnels, websites, forms, surveys and quizzes to workflows and triggers, calendars, pipelines, custom fields and custom values, tags, trigger links, email and text templates, social planner content, membership offers, webinars, dashboards and custom reports, documents and contracts, knowledge bases, review settings, WhatsApp templates, and AI: Conversation AI, Voice AI agents, Agent Studio and brand voice. The Frameworks help article doesn't list calendars, forms or AI agents among what a Framework includes.
You control how it lands. When you load a Snapshot, you can choose which assets to import, review conflicts, and decide whether to override or skip. You can also create a brand-new sub-account straight from a Snapshot.
It's a business model, not just a share link. Agencies can sell Snapshots to other HighLevel agencies on the App Marketplace, with one-time, monthly or yearly pricing, or charge sub-accounts each time the Snapshot is pushed. Buyers push it straight to their locations from their dashboard, and they can't repackage or resell it. The Frameworks article doesn't mention selling Frameworks, and I found no official ClickFunnels marketplace for selling templates.
It plugs into SaaS mode. Agencies can attach Snapshots to their SaaS plans, so every new client who signs up starts with a working system.
A Framework helps you share a blueprint. A Snapshot lets you build, sell and deliver a whole business system, over and over.
White-label and the agency model
This is where the gap is biggest.
ClickFunnels has an Agency App. It lets a team admin create dedicated workspaces for clients, up to 50, with billing managed by the agency. That's helpful for an agency running client funnels. But I found no white-label offer, no way to rebrand ClickFunnels as your own software, on its homepage, pricing page or Agency App docs.
HighLevel was built for agencies from the start. Its 2018 mission was to give "agencies the tools to automate, scale and deliver stronger results."
- White-label. HighLevel says its white-labelling "ensures that all traces of HighLevel branding are removed from the platform", with your own login domain, desktop app and API domain.
- Unlimited sub-accounts on the higher plans.
- SaaS mode. Build your own plans, set your own pricing and trials, and sell the platform as your own software.
- Rebilling. Rebill phone, email and AI usage to clients, with a markup on the right plan.
- A white-label mobile app, published under your own Apple and Google accounts.
That's why I'd call HighLevel the stronger ClickFunnels alternative for agencies. You're not just building funnels for clients. You can own the platform they run their business on.
How our apps help you get more out of HighLevel
I've said HighLevel covers the whole journey. That's true. But no platform is perfect.
HighLevel's line was "Capture, Nurture, Close". When I first got into it in 2020, my question was simple. Where's the prospecting? Where's the outreach? Where's the market creation?
That gap is where we started building. And every one of our apps is built as part of HighLevel, using what's already there: Workflows, Contacts, Tags and Conversations. No API to wire up. No Zapier, Make or n8n in the middle.
We made our apps a part of HighLevel, rather than a complement to it.
Here are three that matter most if you're coming from a funnel-first platform.
LinkedIn for HighLevel: fill the funnel before it's built
Funnels wait for traffic. Outreach goes and finds it.
LinkedIn for HighLevel brings LinkedIn prospecting inside your HighLevel sub-accounts. You find your ideal customers, enrich their email addresses, import them, and reach them on LinkedIn and email, then nurture them with the same Workflows you already use.
I built it for one client who needed it. Every other LinkedIn tool offered the same basic outreach, and none of them sat inside HighLevel. Adding email enrichment was the game changer, because it meant people could build reliable data for email too, not just LinkedIn. Agencies can white-label it and resell it.
WhatsApp for HighLevel: follow up where people actually reply
A lead who opts in at 9pm doesn't want an email at 9am. Plenty of them want a message.
WhatsApp for HighLevel connects your existing WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business number by QR code. Chats appear in HighLevel Conversations, and your Workflows can send messages and follow up automatically. No Meta API approval needed.
There's a standard version and an agency white-label version, and both install from the HighLevel App Marketplace. If follow-up is where your leads go cold, I've written more about WhatsApp follow-up that actually gets answered.
HighLevel Agency Customizer: make the platform yours
If you're an agency moving from client funnels to selling the whole platform, the look and feel matters.
The HighLevel Agency Customizer lets agency owners customise their agency and client sub-accounts: branding, menus and languages, with no code. Your clients see your business, set up the way you want it.
You can see everything we've built on our Apps for HighLevel page.
Snapshots make HighLevel easier to start with
Let's be honest about HighLevel for a moment.
It does a lot. That's its strength. It can also be its biggest hurdle. A new user opens the account, sees funnels, workflows, pipelines, calendars, AI and reputation settings, and thinks: where on earth do I start?
That's where a Snapshot changes everything.
A business system in a box
A NexGenHighLevel Snapshot is a complete, fully built-out business system for a niche, loaded straight into your HighLevel account. The funnels, forms, workflows, pipelines, calendars, emails, texts and AI features are all there, connected around the whole client journey: from the first enquiry to the booked job, the review and the repeat customer.
It's not a starter pack. It's not a template you still have to finish.
And not all Snapshots are equal. A typical Snapshot might be a couple of funnels, a few workflows and one pipeline. That's a head start. Ours are built to be the system itself. I've written more about the idea in the HighLevel Snapshot as a business in a box.
For the business owner and the agency
Our Snapshots work for two people at once.
If you run the business, you get a working system without needing to know how to build one. If you're an agency serving that niche, you get a proven system you can load for every client.
A few that are live today:
- The HVAC Snapshot for heating and cooling businesses, and the agencies that serve them.
- The Landscaping & Lawn Care Snapshot for landscapers and lawn care companies.
- The SMMA Snapshot, built for social media marketing agencies to run their own business.
More niches are on the way. You can see them all on our HighLevel Snapshots page.
Why this matters in a ClickFunnels comparison
Here's the thing. Coming from ClickFunnels, you probably already have funnels you like. What you probably don't have is the system behind them: the follow-up, the booking flow, the review requests, the reactivation.
That's exactly what a Snapshot gives you on day one.
Clients have used Snapshots to skip months, if not years, of trial and error building a system. That's the real value. Not the pages. The thinking that went into how it all fits together.
You don't need to build a system from scratch. You need to start with one that already works, and make it yours.
HighLevel's growth vs ClickFunnels over the last five years
Growth isn't everything. But it tells you where a market is heading, and where the investment, the developers and the new features are going.

I'll only use figures each company or reputable press has published, with the year and the source.
What HighLevel has published
HighLevel's own timeline tracks its customer numbers year by year:
| Year | HighLevel customers (as published) |
|---|---|
| 2019 | 1,000+ (public launch) |
| 2020 | 5,000+ |
| 2021 | 10,000+ |
| 2022 | 20,000+ |
| 2023 | 60,000+ |
| October 2025 | About 110,000 (Dallas Innovates) |
The arithmetic is simple. From 10,000+ customers in 2021 to about 110,000 in October 2025 is roughly eleven times the 2021 figure in four years.
Those customers serve a lot of businesses. HighLevel now supports over 2 million businesses worldwide.
The independent rankings tell the same story:
- Deloitte Technology Fast 500 (North America): No. 47 in 2023, with 3,362% revenue growth from 2019 to 2022. No. 103 in 2024, with 1,176% growth from 2020 to 2023. No. 116 in 2025, with 781% growth from 2021 to 2024.
- Inc. 5000: No. 516 in 2025, its third consecutive year on the list.
- Investment: When General Atlantic made a minority growth investment in April 2024, HighLevel said it had grown "more than 5x" over the previous three years while staying profitable.
HighLevel doesn't publish its own revenue, so I won't guess at it.
What ClickFunnels has published
ClickFunnels had a big head start, and it's only fair to say so.
- October 2018: ClickFunnels said it had 67,000 customers and was ranked 76th on the Inc. 5000.
- September 2019: The Idaho Business Review reported more than 93,000 customers, 351 employees and revenue of $94.6 million.
- Today: The ClickFunnels homepage says "100K+ ClickFunnels Users" and "1M+ Sales Funnels Created". Those figures aren't dated.
For 2021 to 2026, I couldn't find any published ClickFunnels revenue, customer or funding figures from the company or reputable press. It's privately held, so it doesn't have to publish them. That means I can't calculate a five-year growth rate for ClickFunnels, and I won't invent one.
What the numbers say
In 2019, ClickFunnels had more than 93,000 customers. HighLevel had just launched publicly with 1,000+.
By October 2025, HighLevel reported about 110,000 customers. ClickFunnels' latest public figure is an undated "100K+ users". Those aren't the same measure, so I won't call it a straight win. But the direction is clear.
In about six years, HighLevel went from a small public launch to a customer figure in the same range as ClickFunnels' headline number, and kept appearing on growth rankings every year along the way. The momentum is with HighLevel.
Who should choose ClickFunnels, and who should choose HighLevel
Fair to both. Then my view.
ClickFunnels is a good fit if
- You sell digital products, courses or a single offer online.
- The checkout and the upsell are the heart of your business.
- You want a focused funnel tool and you're happy to use other software for phone, reviews and social.
HighLevel is the better fit if
- You run a local or service business where calls, bookings and reviews drive revenue.
- You want your funnels, CRM, follow-up, calendars, reputation, AI and payments in one connected system.
- You're an agency that wants to white-label a platform, sell it as your own software, and grow recurring revenue.
- You want an ecosystem: an app marketplace with independent developers, and Snapshots that load a whole business system in one go.
For most small businesses and agencies I talk to, that second list is them. ClickFunnels builds a brilliant front door. HighLevel builds the whole house.
If you're also weighing up course platforms, I've compared HighLevel vs Kajabi too, and if you want another all-in-one comparison, here's HighLevel vs Kartra.
Switching from ClickFunnels to HighLevel
Switching sounds scary. It's not as bad as people think, if you plan it properly.
Know your goal, plan properly, set up properly, understand properly. Then go for it.
Here's what it looks like in practice.
- Get your HighLevel account. You can get HighLevel through NexGenHighLevel, which comes with onboarding and support (more on that below).
- Export your contacts. Export your contact list from ClickFunnels and import it into HighLevel. Bring your tags with you so your segments survive the move.
- Load a Snapshot, or rebuild. This is the fastest way to stand up the new account. Load a Snapshot for your niche and you've got funnels, workflows, pipelines and calendars in place from the start. Then bring across the funnels and offers you want to keep. Bear in mind a Snapshot carries configuration, not live data: HighLevel says Snapshots don't transfer contacts, conversations or third-party connections, so those get connected in your new account.
- Connect your phone, email and payments. Set up your phone number, your sending domain and your payment processor in HighLevel.
- Run both for a short overlap. Keep ClickFunnels live for a few weeks while HighLevel takes over. Point your traffic to the new funnels, check every form and workflow fires, then switch off the old one.
Walk before you run. A short overlap costs you very little. A broken funnel on launch day costs you a lot more.
What you get when you join HighLevel through us

No catch. It's simply how we'd want to be looked after if we were starting again.
Frequently asked questions
Is HighLevel better than ClickFunnels?
For most small businesses and agencies, yes, in my view. ClickFunnels is excellent at funnels and checkout. HighLevel builds funnels too, then adds phone, missed call text-back, review management, AI, a social planner and full white-label for agencies. If your business runs on calls, bookings and repeat customers, HighLevel covers far more of the journey in one place.
Is GoHighLevel cheaper than ClickFunnels?
The pricing models are different. ClickFunnels charges a flat price per account in tiers, with contact and team-member limits that rise with each tier, and some automation features only on higher tiers. HighLevel charges a flat agency price with unlimited users, with phone, email and AI usage billed separately. Which works out better depends on how many tools HighLevel replaces for you.
Can I migrate from ClickFunnels to HighLevel?
Yes. Export your contacts from ClickFunnels and import them into HighLevel, then load a Snapshot or rebuild your funnels and workflows. Connect your phone, email and payments, and run both platforms side by side for a short overlap before switching off ClickFunnels. A Snapshot is the quickest way to get a working account in place.
Does ClickFunnels have white-label?
I couldn't find a white-label offer on ClickFunnels' homepage, pricing page or Agency App documentation. Its Agency App lets you create up to 50 client workspaces with billing managed by the agency. HighLevel, by contrast, lets agencies remove its branding entirely, use their own domain, and resell the platform as their own software through SaaS mode.
What is a HighLevel Snapshot?
A Snapshot is a reusable copy of a HighLevel sub-account's setup: funnels, forms, workflows, pipelines, calendars, email and text templates, AI agents and more. You load it into another account in one go. A NexGenHighLevel Snapshot goes further: a fully built-out business system for a niche. You also get a free one when you sign up to HighLevel through us.
Is a ClickFunnels Framework the same as a HighLevel Snapshot?
They're close cousins. A ClickFunnels Framework bundles funnels, workflows, themes, courses, email templates, products and pipelines, shared by link. A HighLevel Snapshot covers a wider set of assets, including calendars, forms, custom values, review settings and AI agents, lets you choose what to load, and can be sold to other agencies on the HighLevel App Marketplace.
Funnels are only the start
I'll leave you with the question I used to ask every new client.
When somebody fills in your form tonight, what happens next?
If the honest answer is "not much until Monday", a better funnel won't fix it. A better system will.
ClickFunnels is a strong tool for building that first step. HighLevel is where the rest of the journey lives: the follow-up, the booking, the review, the repeat customer. Add an app marketplace with independent developers, Snapshots that load a whole business system, and a white-label model built for agencies, and for most small businesses and agencies it's the platform to build on.
Technology is leverage, not strategy. But if you're going to put leverage behind your business, put it behind the whole thing.
If you're ready to see it for yourself, get HighLevel through NexGenHighLevel and start with a system that already works.
A funnel gets you the lead. A system gets you the business.
